4 January 2016 - Let Yesterday Burn and Throw it in the Fire

Dearest friends and family,

So, Happy New Year again.

This year, my ringing in the new year was quite simple. I couldn't sleep, so I decided to just tough it out and stay up till midnight. That was kind of a mistake, but hey, its new years. My ringing in consisted of filming myself and all the millions of fireworks that could be heard outside the house. I then drank a glass of milk instead of cider.

We had a good time and fair bit of success with a message about the new year. If you want to learn more about how the story of Lot relates, I would direct you to this video: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lrZij9MSTRI

Also, to celebrate the new year (and new budget) we had an activity at the mission offices....with the whole mission.Inline image 1
It was pretty rad. We got together and played Volleyball and Futbol and stuff and then we all ate costco hotdogs. I got to see a lot of cool people. You will see the pictures later. We actually just got back from this activity about two hours ago. Good stuff.

So, to end, I will share a spiritual thought.

This is the time when we make new goals to be better. With that in mind, this should be our attitude every single day of our lives. The gospel is the means by which we can make the greatest and most important changes in our lives. The atonement of Jesus Christ gives us the ability to, in the words (lyrics) of one of my favorite musical artists, "let yesterday burn and throw it in the fire." We need not look back on our mistakes because they have passed away. All we need to do TODAY is be better. That is all.

Sé que el Señor Jesucristo vive. Sé que por Él podemos ser limpios de nuestros pecados y ser los mejores que podemos.

Los amo,

Elder Lambert
