Queridos Amigos y Familia,
This week wasn't all that eventful until the end of it, to be
honest, but things happened nonetheless.
Challenges, trials, triumphs, and small successes are all a part
of the mission experience. Every mission is different, but they are all the
same in this regard, I am pretty sure. When the work is building the kingdom of
God on the Earth, these are the only things that we can expect. That being
said, this transfer period (and this week) have been full of them.
Many challenges come in the form of never ever ever ever ever
being physically alone and always having the same person with you for upwards of
three months at a time. This type of challenge popped its head up when my
companion apparently woke up on the wrong side of the bed on Friday.
details are unimportant, but suffice it to say that all is well in Zion at this
point. Learning the principles of charity and love is sometimes difficult, but
it's worth it.
A great triumph came our way that same day when the nonmember
wife (Erika) of a recently reactivated member (David) decided to accept a
baptismal date. But, the adversary can't be expected to rest...ever.
On Saturday we discovered that David's mother was in a car
accident and was having trouble figuring out her legal and medical situation.
So, the day that David was supposed to receive the Aaronic priesthood, he had
to leave to take care of his mother in another state. That being said, we still
have hope and are praying earnestly for their wellbeing.
These kind of experiences are difficult to bear, but they also
reinforce the fact that this really is the work of the Lord. Opposition of this
type would not come up if we were not truly in the service of God.
Sé sin duda que la obra misional es la obra del Señor. Sé que
Dios nos ama y nos conoce individualmente. Sé que por medio de la expiación de
Jesucristo, podemos tener la fortaleza para vencer todos los desafios de este
vida. Sé que Dios sabe nuestro potencial y que Él quiere que podemos realizar
lo.
Los amo,
Elder Lambert
